Frequently Asked Questions - Centerville Garage Door Pros
What We Do Not Take On
We fix doors, springs, openers, tracks, and panels. We don't touch commercial dock doors or rolling steel fire doors - that's a different trade with different hardware entirely, and we'd rather tell you that up front than take a job we can't do right.
A lot of the houses in this part of Ohio went up between 1938 and 2004, with the bulk clustered in the 1960s and '70s. That means a fair number of original one-piece doors and older extension-spring setups still hanging around. We'll repair what's repairable, but if the track is rusted through, the jambs have shifted, or the door itself is the kind nobody makes parts for anymore, we'll say so instead of patching something that'll fail again in six months. Replacing a door costs more up front than a repair, but on a door that old, a repair you have to redo twice costs more in the end.
We also don't do structural carpentry - if your opening needs the framing rebuilt before a door can go back in, that's a call for a general contractor first. And because winters here get genuinely cold, we won't install an uninsulated door section on a door that's otherwise insulated; it defeats the point and we'll tell you that instead of selling it to you.
The Areas We Cover

Contacting Us
Call (937) 326-4952. We're based at 898 S Main St, Centerville, OH 45458, and that's where you can reach us or drop by.
When you call, it helps to know the door's approximate age and whether the problem is the spring (door feels heavy, won't stay up), the opener (door doesn't move or doesn't respond to the remote), or the track (door binds, jumps, or makes a grinding noise going up or down). You don't need to diagnose it exactly - just tell us what you're seeing and hearing, and we'll take it from there.
Frequently asked questions
Do you come out to Bellbrook or Oakwood?
Yes. Bellbrook is about 3 miles from our Centerville location and Oakwood is about 6. Both are inside the area we regularly work. If you're farther out, check the areas section above or just call (937) 326-4952 and ask directly.
My house was built in the 1960s - can you still get parts for my door?
Often, yes, especially for springs, rollers, and cables, which are fairly standardized. Original panels on doors from that era are a different story - some are no longer made, and in those cases replacement usually makes more sense than chasing discontinued parts.
How cold does it have to be before my garage door stops working right?
This area sits in a cold, severe climate band, and metal tracks and springs do tighten up and behave differently once temperatures drop hard. If your door's gotten sluggish or noisy only in winter, that's often a lubrication or spring-tension issue worth having looked at before it gets worse.
Do you work on commercial garage doors?
No. We work on residential doors, springs, openers, and tracks. Commercial dock doors and rolling steel fire doors use different hardware and different codes, and we don't take those jobs.
